TheOneRing.net is reporting that the extended editions of
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy will be released at
AMC theaters this summer. Here are the dates:
The Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Edition) - June 14th
The Two Towers (Extended Edition) - June 21st
The Return of the King (Extended Edition) - June 28th
While this is cool, I'm trying to figure out what the reasoning is here. It can't be to generate excitement for
The Hobbit (part 1). That won't come out until December of 2012. They should spread these out every couple of months or so, that way The Return of the King would be out - what September of 2012 - a couple of months before the new movie. I dunno. They didn't ask me.
